A note on the atlas.

This is a rotatable, orthographic globe with a shaded spherical appearance, drawn from real country boundaries. It is not satellite imagery or a terrain model. The U.S. view uses an Albers map with Alaska and Hawaii insets; inset positions are not geographical positions.

Country boundaries: Natural Earth, distributed through world-atlas. U.S. states: U.S. Census Bureau cartographic boundaries, distributed through us-atlas. Boundaries are generalized, may omit small islands, and do not imply a position on disputed territories.

Rendering: D3 v7.9.0 and topojson-client v3.1.0, stored locally. Library and data-package license notices are retained in assets/globe.

Photography uploaded by the site owner is credited as Photography © Alexandrea Railing. Empty places show a no-image state instead of bundled demo or placeholder photography.
